JVC KD-X50BT, tons of features for a cheap price, January 30, 2012 This review is from: JVC KD-X50BT In-Dash Car Stereo Digital Media Receiver w/ Built-In Bluetooth, Front USB & Variable Color Control (Electronics) This head unit has many features, and for someone who does not have any CD's is an incredible value. *IT DOES NOT PLAY CD'S*, so make sure you have your music on a flash drive or your phone. In this day of age, I feel CD's are mostly obsolete anyways. An mp3 with a good sampling rate will sound good, and you can store literally thousands of them on a 32gb flash drive, or on an sd card on your phone.

It has bluetooth, check; it has ipod/iphone control, check; it has aux in, check; it has front USB, check; it has 32 color led to choose from, check; All this and the only thing it's missing is a detachable face. I know amazon says there's a detachable face feature but it's an error. Do I recommend to purchase this unit?; Hell Yeah. This has almost everything I need for under $100.

Installation was fairly easy as I already was using an aftermarket radio. External mic was placed on the headliner so it would be the closest to my mouth for better voice pickup.
My Samsung Focus S paired easily with this device and lots of features are available. To place calls you can either use the buttons and knobs to browse your phone book or hold the call button to activate the voice feature built-in to windows phones. Texting is also a breeze, if you have speech setting on, as it reads the messages and you can voice your response without touching the phone. For private conversations or exiting your car its one button to switch the call over from Bluetooth to the phone.
As many have stated this doesn't include a cd player, which is fine for me as I listen to music and podcasts from my phone. I still have to test other... Read more
